✅I Bought this TOTALED Mazda How Bad Can it Really Be? 🤬

I got this totaled 2021 Mazda CX5 from Insurance Auto Auction (Copart) This vehicle got hit pretty good, where it sustained damage to both of the frame rails and a strut tower. All of it had to be pulled back out on my homemade frame rack. There was a fair bit of challenges that I had to overcome. But it turned into a pretty interesting project and I'm glad that I get to share it you all of you!

    I have a question. I did all my steppers, reflow prndl resistor and surrounding 6, upgraded to led bulbs 5 years ago including the 6v bulbs in the climate control. 3 years ago I changed the headlight switch because the backlight would go out but if I scrolled the dimmer it would come back on. Recently the backlight in the cluster dims to almost nothing but the climate control stays bright. If it’s 100 degrees out with the windows up, later that night it’s working properly. Until it’s running for a while and warms up a little from the bulbs and it goes dim again. I’m know I’m going to have to most likely reflow the whole board, but I was just wondering if you knew where to look first to diag in case I don’t find it visually with the microscope. I like to have that 100% diag every time or I feel like cheating if I just “do everything” and it’s fixed. I can’t find any kind of diagram through Mitchell or all data pro on what does what pertaining the cluster itself.

    I just got this video recommended. Wanted to complement you @fix206 on using a liquid for pressure testing your tank. It was nice to see someone who knows how to safely test pressure vessels. For people who don't know. when pressure testing tanks, coils, etc, you usually will use a liquid (water or an oil) due to the incompressibility of the liquid. In the event of a rupture, the pressure will drop immediately leading to more of a leak than an explosion as long as you have removed all the gasses (through either drawing a vacuum first, or completely displacing it with the liquid prior to pressurization).

    I got lucky and found the pump on clearance during a liquidation sale. It only cost me $60! Building this myself taught me a lot about plumbing. Since I didn't have 240v power at the time, I modified an 11hp snow blower motor and used the same pressure vessel. The unloader valve was surprisingly the most expensive part. Awesome video!😊

      @fix206 4 дня назад

      Of course there is a drain at the bottom of the tank, every compressor comes with one including this one. I do open it up every now and then but since I pre-dry the air before it enters a tank no moisture ever comes out of that valve.

    • @fix206

      Air/water separator will not cool the air but allow a hot air to pass through into the tank where as the air cools the water will condense. Therefore you have to cool the air first before it gets to the separator.
